You have eight weeks! Are you spending them wisely?

As many of you know, most voters don’t start paying attention to elections until Labor Day, which is roughly 63 days before Election Day. This give the average campaign around 500 working hours to convince as many voters as possible to either vote for your candidate, or to even turn out to vote in the first place.

The biggest trap that campaigns fall into is that they simply look at “50/50” precincts and determine that those are the places where they will win the most votes? But are they? Voter targeting is significantly more complicated than that. Some precincts can be “50/50”, but the voters are entrenched in their partisan leanings. Other precincts might be “60/40”, but have a lot more movable voters. This leads to campaigns getting stuck into the “winning the precinct” mentality, instead of trying to win the most votes throughout a candidate’s district. Our dashboard fixes that problem.

Where the Voting Trend Targeting Dashboard can boost your campaign

Persuasion Targeting

Persuadable voters are everywhere, but how can you find them? There’s a lot more than just looking at 50/50 precincts. The persuasion targeting algorithm in the Voting Trend Targeting Dashboard specifically looks at past results, voter registration numbers, turnout numbers, split-ticket analysis, down-ballot drop off, and other factors to determine whether a precinct has moveable votes or not.

Low Propensity Democrats

One of the biggest missed opportunities for campaigns is not turning out low propensity Democratic voters. These are voters who are already registered Democrats and live in precincts that have vote heavily Democratic. However, many voters stay at home. The Voting Trend Targeting Dashboard will help you find where those “stay at home Democrats” live, so you can increase you GOTV efforts in those communities.

Non-Partisan Affiliated Voter Leaning

Non-Partisan Affiliate voters, or ‘independents’, are not this moderate, non-partisan jewel voters that many campaigns assume. Some are strongly partisan but refuse to register with a political party, while others are truly more independent. The Voting Trend Targeting Dashboard examines NPA voters to determine how rigid of fluid they are in their perceived partisan leanings, using a forecasting formula that has been successful in forecasting every major statewide election in Florida since 2018.

Easy Access Visualization for Quick Reference

Even with all of the tools that can help you with your targeting strategy, sometimes just getting a bird’s eye view of the political landscape will help you with your targeting efforts. The Voting Trend Targeting Dashboard provides a number of maps that will help you visualize the lay of the land, as well as provide specific information for each precinct, such as previous results, turnout numbers, and voter registration breakdown.
